Spring, my favourite time of year, is clearly creeping in, When the nights slowly start to lengthen, the sun starts to feel warm and there is a general air of colour and light lifting people out of their winter blues. I, in my haste for the warmth to fill the air, thought of a picnic for my upcoming birthday, but I think its still to soon to don the sandals and roll around in the grass. But it definitely is time for you to start spring cleaning your feet for some of the lovely shoes and bright colours that are going to be dominating the shops for this Spring/Summer season. I have done my foot 'spring clean' in readiness, digging out the foot spa and giving myself a little TLC. My toes are now donned with a delectable Coral 'Barry M' nail varnish which has put a little spring in my step already.
Now I know fashion weeks are still going on and we are being inundated with images of shoe trends of the future winter, but for now I think we should concentrate on some shoes that can be coveted and possibly bought NOW, we'll look to winter another day. My favourite Spring/Summer trend, a splurge of colour. Spring/Summer will be full of bright neon colours, chunky heels and mixed textures and prints. Its the perfect way to peel the winter cocoon off, by picking up a dark outfit with some fantastic bright footwear. Its also the trend you can do a little DIY on an old pair of shoes, don't throw away a favourite old pair, experiment with bright spray paint, fabric paint, feathers, beads and fabric scraps. Replace an old pair of laces with some new bright ones or some printed ribbon, the possibilities are endless. Now go get your bright on, its high time for a little spring
